But once MJ got to the mountain top… he never lost, never swept, always the mvp of every series. He was the master of his domain in his prime during the hardest, most competitive era of basketball. It doesn’t matter how long it took to get there.

Overall a nice video, no doubt about that, but honestly this stat does not make any sense to me. Like it doesn’t matter how many games without losing 3 in a row a team gets, because nobody wants to achieve that. Teams want to win chanpionships and to do it as effevtively as possible. For a coach or manager the ideal regular season would be one where you end up first win one more win than the second place while resting and protecting your main players as much as possible. So, given the fact that nobody optimizes for games without a 3 lose streak, this stat is just pointless to me.

Damn right! He is the GOAT. but just to remind you that Thanos is a fictional character created by Marvel, and they can do anything they want with the story line. So to compare the possibility of MJ to lose 3 consecutive games with the possibility of defeating Thanos is not really fit.

MJ worshipper click bait 👎 Yes. It took MJ 8 years to get to the playoff finals. LJ did it in 4. With 2007 Cleveland. With Anderson Varejão as the big gun at his side. (Anderson who? Yes - that Anderson)
  • Pedro Augusto Costa
    Pedro Augusto Costa
    Month ago
First of all, yes clickbait, everyone does it, its the way to get views, second, Jimmy is a Lebron fan, he said in multiple occasions and has making a lot of Lebron's videos, third, yes I know Anderson Varejão, I'm Brazilian just like him(he is bad, like, really bad), fourth, that run wasn't that impressive, his 2018 run was way better, in 2018 he lead a way worst team( the 2007 was a good defensive team, but on offence it was the Lebron show, just like Iverson in 2001, the 2018 was just bad in ever way), they faced way better competition( the only good team on the way to finals was the Pistons, and they're older at that time and without Ben Wallace, the only man that could stop Bron, that 25 points in a row was legendary) and he was way better in the finals( in 2007 Lebron put 22/7/7 on 35%/20%/69(nice)% splits, but in 2018 he put 34/8,5/10 in 53%/33%/84% shooting) yes, Lebron had carried a terrible team to the finals, but it was in 2018, not in 2007, you can see more about it on this video: usmuchs.info/call/video/fshypKTCzn7dpoY.html and Jordan had faced way better competition than Lebron on his way to the finals, the 80's Boston(the best era of Boston basketball, when Bird and McHale in theirs primes), Pistons( the best era of the bad boys pistons, one of the best defensive teams ever) a Bucks team that won 50+ games during that time lead by HOF Sidney Moncrief, one of the best defenders ever, and in the 90's, he faced the Knicks(when they're good) the Miller's lead Pacers( that were way better than we think) the Magic with a young Shaq and Penny. Both are all time great players, and Jimmy isn't disrespecting Lebron, he is his favorite player ever, he is just saying that that feat was absurd and legendary, and it was, the second player in that list is Curry, and he has half of the streak that Jordan has.

It’s a cool stat but many factors went into that and it is not a good indicator of pure skill of one player. The argument that the team around Jordan had less to do with it than Jordan, or at least weren’t a major contributing factor, is disingenuous. Sure they lost 3 when Jordan wasn’t there, but Jordan likely would have lost 3 at some point if Pippen and Rodman were gone for entire seasons with no one comparable to compare them with. Imagine if Kobe had been take off the Lakers during his huge streak and placed on some bottom tier team. Both Kobe and the Lakers would be affected. There are also factors which go into the astronomical equation such as where the best teams land on your schedule, not resting and riding out games towards the end of a season, your teams talent relative to other teams in league. Your coaches call vs opponent calls, which it appears Phil Jackson has been apart of several streaks of this nature, and has said before that championship teams don’t lose three in a row, so you also have a coach who puts extra emphasis on not losing 3. I can’t find that quote but I distinctly remember him saying it either about my Mavs a season we started 0-4 but ended with 67 then lost to the warriors. Something this astronomically improbable, is not due to the talent of one man alone, not even Jordan. It is Jordan + a bunch of things falling into place.
